Steve is currently in his third year of his BSc Earth Science (Hons) degree. He has always enjoyed the outdoors and new experiences so is looking forward to the expedition to Uganda. Also he sees the expedition as an opportunity to see active geology up close and gain a field perspective of the processes that shape out earth. He hopes the trip will put into practice his mapping and fieldwork skills and improve them in preparation for the final year of his degree.

Steve has experience helping coordinate landscaping projects as well as coaching lacrosse. The fieldwork in the Rwenzori mountains will involve work at high altitudes in variable climatic conditions this will be very physically demanding for the team. As team trainer Steve will be making sure that everyone is prepared both physically and mentally to endure this so that the fieldwork can be carried out to the high standard expected.

He will also be making sure that the team is aware of the social and cultural differences in the area and how to act accordingly as ambassadors of the university of Glasgow.
