Glasgow University Uganda Expedition 2018

This group is run from the University of Glasgow, and intends to complete and expedition to Uganda in June 2018. We will be conducting various research examining geology, resources and hazards combined with their social impacts. Key to our expedition will be the role in education, with an aim to produce an education field guide for geology students. Our group currently comprises 11 students and one staff adviser.

Following the geological mapping of localities, the information gained from these areas will be used to understand the social impacts that geological features have on the surrounding communities. This will include the use of geothermal locations as an educational and economic resource, the quality and availability of water for local use, and the level of sustainable development in the area and its effects in regards to external investment surrounding viable geological sources.
